The Cat Came Back!

He waltzed in tonight, looking none the worse for wear, and in fact not even hungry. But he's not talking.

He would be in big trouble, but I'm too relieved to do anything but squeeze him and kiss him.

I hope this isn't a foreshadowing of what it will be like when HellBoy is a teenager and stays out past curfew. "You are in big trouble, young man ... oh, sweetie, I'm so happy to see you, can I fix you something to eat?"

dollars to donuts some elderly neighbor is feeding him and he is going to get very fat. Just ask my parents' 20 pounder.

Glad he's back. Our cat has gone "exploring" for a couple hours and I always get freaked out that she'll never come back! (Also, if Shirky is right you might want to read "Six-Dinner Sid." Or at least read it to your child.

Hello from England. Glad the kitty is back. Those are really pretty cats you have.

In case this ever happens again - I have heard that most missing housecats are found within two blocks of their home - they just don't stray very far. A friend's cat went missing and eventually turned up in a neighbor's basement - he climbed into an open window and then couldn't get out again (but was completely fine). So if you ever need to go looking for GoodCat, search very thoroughly around your house first. PS - I'm still jogging and my knee is great!!!

Glad to hear the cat is back, if mine went out wandering (he's an indoor cat) I'd be in a panick

I get the fear of things to come with your son..I have a 6 year old one myself, I KNOW I'll be that way

:)

I'm so glad. My orange cat Box thinks that it is quite hilarious to disappear. Overnight. I always thought he was trapped in someone's garage or basement....but, knock on wood, he always comes back by breakfast. Or lumch at the latest.

Must be the week for missing cats. My little Lola decided to go missing overnight last Wednesday (while I was curled up on the couch suffering from my own moon-induced woes) and she got bitten by some evil animal. She had to have surgery and is being quarantined for 6 months because her rabies vaccine was due last month and we missed the appointment. So now the pathetic little creature is walking around the house with a plastic cone on her head and a shorn foot. So glad GoodCat made it back so quickly and in one piece!

My English Bulldog, Auggie, destroyed a new pair of flip flops that I owned for 2 hours. They were completely shredded.

He just looked so damn guilty and ashamed of himself. I wound up hugging him.

I'm so glad he came back! He probably visited a neighbor or got stuck in someone's garage. They do silly things like that. Mine are indoor cats because we live too close to a busy road. Actually they look strikingly like yours, I've got a gray boy Loki and a brindle swirly girl Trinity (named after the gal in Matrix because she can do back flips and looks good in latex boots).

Yay! My friends used to have cats that went 'on vacation.' They'd disappear for a week or two and show up frazzled and need a rest. They kind of went on cat benders.

I'm so glad he's back.

So glad Goodcat is back. I know how you feel. One of our 3 occasionally decides that she should spend the night at the KitKat Club. She comes waltzing in late morning and in her most rude tone of voice demands fun. Then ignores the question "Sophie where have you been all night?"
Thankfully we live way out in the country so cars aren't a worry.
