HellBoy, however, has been in a great mood ever since I broke down and bought him his one true heart's desire: a GIT-ar.
This thing makes him so happy, it's frightening. What's weird is, he's never seemed like a particularly musical kid. I think he must already know the secret: the guy with the guitar can always get girls, even if he sucks at playing it.
you are in for a 24/7 concert :) my three year old never part with his "guitar", since he got it from his grandad last christmas. i guess every kid is musical. or...practicing to get the girls at least :)
ReplyDeleteHoly cow, Hell Boy looks pretty cute in those pictures! The young ladies most definitely better watch out... He doesn't even have to play it, just look at the pic of him in his diaper... It looks like an album cover.

ReplyDeleteOur house is brimming with instruments - 3 guitars, keyboard, sax, clarinet...so I'm adopting the "beat 'em join 'em" approach and am eagerly awaiting the delivery of my electric drums...

My two-year-old is obsessed with his guitar too. If he can't find it, EVERYTHING becomes a guitar. A broom. A shovel. A wooden spoon. (Although I have a hunch if I actually pay for lessons in a few years he'll lose all interest.)

ReplyDeleteYep, we just got a guitar at our house. My favorite moment so far: the Moosh strums vigorously, looks questioningly at his hand and says, "Ouch."
ReplyDeleteMine has a ukelele, and, he sings folks songs while strumming it. Like "I was walking to schoool, in the spring time, what a beautiful day." He also sings current commentary, like "I sat down, and picked up my guitar (calls the uke a guitar), and I played, and mommy clapped, and my grandma clapped."

Ben doesn't take much interest in his mini-guitar, but his daddy was a guitarist in a rock band when I first fell for him. (Who can resist?) And a couple days ago, Ben asked me if Daddy could buy an electric guitar and an amp—so maybe he's itching to take it to the next level.

Yes, very cute. If HB ever does learn to play the thing, drop me an email. I have a drumming toddler - we can get our boys together for an under-four rock review. I think there could be big money in it. And once Paticus's girs are old enough to really whale on those cow bells... well, there'll be no stopping the rock.
